Coach Ling has been involved in soccer and education as a player, coach, and instructor for more than twenty-five years in the Mid-Atlantic States of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.   Since his time in high school as an All-State Midfielder, playing for the German Saengerbund Club team in Delaware, and studying at Eastern University outside of Philadelphia, Coach Ling has served as a soccer coach and instructor on a variety of levels of middle and high school players and teams.  As a high school coach, Coach Ling worked with several high schools in the Philadelphia area and served as the head boys’ varsity coach at Ranney Prep School in New Jersey for 15 years with significant success in conference championships and playoff appearances, prior to joining the Bishop Brady community.  During that time, he also worked with players and teams within the ODP, PDA and Match Fit Academy realm, and other player developmental programs within the Mid-Atlantic States.  Out of season, he worked with Celtic Elite Football Club in Toms River, New Jersey and has assisted both high school and club players to attain opportunities to play at the D1, D2, and D3 Collegiate level.   Coach Ling holds National D Level Coaching licenses through state associations in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey, a National High School Coaching Certification with the NSCAA, is a member of the National High School Coaches Association, and is currently working toward his National C license through the USSF.  More recently, Coach Ling has continued to refine his knowledge and skills as a coach by training, coaching, and working with some of the best players in the game.  His training under the mentorship of Celtic Football Club Developmental Coach Brian Gillian of the Jimmy Johnstone Academy in Glasgow, Scotland, and working and training with Vldaislav Bogicevic (Yugoslavian World Cup Team Member, Nyack College Coach), as well as New Jersey’s Division 1 Monmouth University Men’s Assistant Coach, Hugh MacDonald, has undoubtedly equipped him with a myriad of skills and knowledge of the game of soccer.
