Girls Varsity Soccer Falls Short at Inter Lakes

The Varsity Girls soccer team played their fourth game of the season, after a week hiatus in their schedule, at InterLakes high school. The girls played a competitive game! In a game where shots were at a minimum in the first half due to strong defense and some altered passes, each team held each other offensively to limited opportunities. First half goal came off of an Olivia Crainich corner kick to the foot of senior Alex Sacco. Second half the Giants fell 2-1 early and could not close the gap. Solid overall games by Maddie Boyer and Crainich, and some strong tackles by Abby Santis and Sarah Doherty at defense. Coach Andrew said "the girls had a long time off between games and we came out a little slow but once we got into the game we played better and gave ourselves a chance to win at the end of the game. We had a lot of chances towards the end but couldn't find that final ball. Onto the next one with a full week of games ahead!" Next game is tomorrow in the road at Derryfield and the Giants are roaring to go!
