Div. III Field Hockey

This week we are going to recognize two more Fall Athletes as Athletes of the week for the previous weeks play, one from the Varsity Boys Soccer team and one from the Varsity Field Hockey team.

Our female athlete of the week is Emma Windsor, a member of the Varsity Field Hockey team. She has been a great addition to the team this year. According to her coach, she has been steady in net and been a poised leader, most recently showing impressive skills in goal in their first round playoff game last week finishing with 19 high level saves. For her overall play and growth this season, Emma is recognized as our female athlete of the week for last week’s play.

This week we are going to recognize two more Fall Athletes as Athletes of the week for the previous weeks play, one from the Varsity Football team and one from the Varsity Field Hockey team, both teams earning big wins Friday vs. Franklin.

Our female athlete of the week is Paige Blake, a Senior member of the Varsity Field Hockey team. She is a strong leader on the team and has been a steady contributor to the offense this year and continues to improve, most specifically this last week when she recorded 4 goals and an assist in two big team wins. For her overall play and team spirit, Paige is being recognized as our female athlete of the week for last week’s play.

This week we are going to recognize two more Fall Athletes as Athletes of the week for the previous week's play, one from the Varsity Golf team and one from the Varsity Field Hockey team.

Our female athlete of the week is Emma Windsor, a sophomore member of the Varsity Field Hockey team. She is the backbone to the team, playing the ever crucial goalie position. She possesses strong athleticism, length, and timing in net. She is poised and has improved a great deal this season thus far, displaying a lot of strengths in Friday's game vs. Berlin making some impressive saves. She has shown great grit, focus, and commitment this year helping carry her team in many games to strong wins and close losses.

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Each week the Athletic Department will receive nominations from Coaches for a new weekly recognition we will call “Athlete of the Week”. One Female and one Male athlete will be chosen from the nominees. This award will recognize a male and female’s weekly accomplishment in their sport and many of the intangible qualities that set them apart from others.

Our female athlete of the week is a Junior member of the Varsity Field Hockey team, Lauren Roy. Lauren is a mature and hardworking presence day in and day out on the field working well with both returners and new players alike. She has had great success already this season in large part due to her communication and teamwork. Her coaches speak about her overall play being a standout in each game so far this year. She possesses a strong understanding of the game, a competitive fire, and a want to continue to learn and get better. Lauren is awarded Athlete of the Week for her attention to the details, and her commitment to her team, the program and her excellence in play. Congrats Lauren!
