Congrats to our Varsity Football Team for earning a playoff spot for their upcoming tournament.

First game is home this Saturday at 2:30 PM at Memorial Field in Concord vs. Newport High School.

The more fans the better! We want to cover the bleachers with Brady Pride.

This week we are going to recognize two more Fall Athletes as Athletes of the week for the previous weeks play.

Our male athlete of the week is Aidan Plumpton, a senior captain on the Boys Varsity Football team. According to his coach, he led the defensive unit on senior night to a 24-7 victory over Somersworth. He made four consecutive tackles (along with at least another handful) on one drive to force Somersworth to go 4 and out. The defense did not allow them to score any points on them. Offensively, he ran hard all night and made several key blocks for his fellow running backs. For his leadership and play, Aidan is our male athlete of the week for last week’s contests.

This week we are going to recognize two more Fall Athletes as Athletes of the week for the previous weeks play, one from the Varsity Football team and one from the Varsity Field Hockey team, both teams earning big wins Friday vs. Franklin.

Our male athlete of the week is Moses Murenzi, a running back and defensive end on the Varsity Football team. Moses has had an impressive senior season so far, most recently leading his team to an impressive showing on Friday vs. Franklin, with 268 yards rushing and five touchdowns. On Saturday he was also recognized as a Concord Monitor Star of the Day for his efforts as well. For his athleticism, competitiveness, and passion for the game, Moses is receiving this recognition.

Each week the Athletic Department will receive nominations from Coaches for a new weekly recognition we will call “Athlete of the Week”. One Female and one Male athlete will be chosen from the nominees. This award will recognize a male and female’s weekly accomplishment in their sport and many of the intangible qualities that set them apart from others.

Our male athlete of the week for the week of 9/12-9/18 is Rich Sullivan, a Junior wide receiver and defensive back on the varsity Football team this year. He is a true athlete and competitor at heart. He possesses strong footwork and timing, which helps him be very successful on the field, most recently scoring four receiving touchdowns in the last game on Friday vs. Raymond. Rich not only shines in receiving the ball, but also defending it according to his coaches, possessing strong communication skills and awareness on the defensive side of the ball. He is always working to learn and grow as a player. Congrats Rich!
