It's hard to believe we are entering into our final week of our tennis season.  For the third week in a row, we have a 4 match week, so remember to eat healthy meals, hydrate, and get as much rest as you can.  And, if the weather forecast is accurate, looks like we will be plenty warm on Wednesday and Thursday!

Monday, 5/15 at 4:00 pm Away match at Timberlane  (Sydney H., Rav, Rachel, Anna, Addie, Manu, Alexa, Silvia and Sarah to travel.  We will do our best to get everyone either in the match or in an exhibition match.  They have 4 courts) Mini Bus leaves Brady at 2:50.

Tuesday 5/16 at 4:30 pm Home match vs Hanover.  I will arrive at Memorial Field by 3:00.  JV Players (and Christina and Sydney S.) arrive early and you can scrimmage until 4:00.

Wednesday 5/17 at 4:00 pm Home match vs. Bedford

Thursday 5/18 at 4:00 pm Home match vs. Keene.  Picture day and Senior Night.  Senior Night food and decorations to be organized by Junior Class.  At the end of the match, I will be collecting Jerseys, please bring another shirt to change into.

Let's go Brady Girls!

Girls' Tennis 5/8-5/18

Updated on 06/10/2022 | Joan Herrington

We survived a busy tennis week, are still looking for our first team win, but are definitely getting closer!  We believe all players made progress in their game, and their ability to compete during this hectic, 4-match week, and look forward to improving even more over the final 2 weeks of our season.  We are proud of our team’s ability to balance a grueling match schedule and AP exams—a special shout-out to Ravalika who sat for 2 AP exams and 4 matches in 4 days!

Due to rescheduled matches because of lousy weather, we have 4 matches/week for the next 2 weeks.  And, if you’ve looked at the 10-day rainy weather forecast, we will need a bit of luck to play our matches on the dates scheduled.  Mr. Lathrop decides when matches must be cancelled due to rain, and he makes the change to our online schedule.  For those who have signed up for a fan account, followed varsity tennis, and left your email address at:
http://bishopbradyathletics.com
you’ll get notified as soon as the schedule is changed.  If in doubt about our match schedule, I encourage you to check that site.

Monday 5/8 Home Match vs. Winnacunnet at Memorial Field
Tuesday 5/9 Away Match vs. Alvirne (Sydney, Ravalika, Rachel, Anna, Alexa, Addie will travel) Manu is first alternate, Silvia is second alternate (bring gear to school in case one or more of first six become ill)
Wednesday 5/10 Away Match vs. Pinkerton (all varsity girls will travel)
Thursday 5/11 Home Match Vs. Londonderry
Friday 5/12 Off (may be used for make up match due to rain)

Monday 5/15 Away Match vs. Timberlane
Tuesday 5/16 Home Match vs. Hanover
Wednesday 5/17 Home Match vs. Bedford
Thursday 5/18 Home Match vs. Keene (Senior Night)
Friday 5/19 —prom night!

As in prior years, the annual tennis fee to cover indoor court time and group lessons is $50.  Please bring your payment to Mr. Lathrop.  Payment due by 5/12.

Enjoy your weekend.

Reminder: JV and Varsity Tennis Practice Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 11

Updated on 06/10/2022 | Joan Herrington
Reminder, Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 11 there will be tennis practice for ALL girls.

All JV Players have a lesson with Pattu at the Health Club of Concord from 3:00-4:30. If you are unable to get to this lesson tomorrow, please email me tonight.

All Varsity Players will be practicing outdoors at Beaver Meadow Tennis Courts from 3:00 to 4:30.  There is no locker room or bathroom facilities at these courts—change into tennis clothes at Brady.  Please bring your own water, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen etc.  The following link shows location of these courts.

Fingers crossed that our first match will be at home on Wednesday, April 12 at Memorial Field in Concord. All Varsity and JV players attend home matches—It’s a great opportunity to watch and learn more about tennis and cheer on your team.  And, We try to play as many exhibition matches as we can fit in.     Match starts at 4:00, all players should be dressed and ready to play at 3:30.  Make sure you are prepared for New Hampshire Spring weather ie. bring layers of clothing. Tennis matches last quite a long time, and we have watched several matches in hats, mittens and winter coats! A blanket comes in handy, too.
Sydney Herrington will provide snacks and a case of water for the first home match.  Traditionally, at home matches, players take turns providing snacks for the whole team to share.  Snack Schedule to follow later this evening.

I am posting all of these e-mails at the familiar Brady Athletics website.  (see link below).  Our athletic director, Andy Lathrop, posts the most accurate match schedule at that site.  I strongly encourage all of you to create a fan page on that site.  Follow Brady Girls Varsity Tennis, leave your email address, and you will get all these emails as they are posted.  I created my own fan account today, and the only tricky part I found was that you must add your school name under the “Update Favorites/Alerts” tab.  Once you add our school, you can add “Girls Varsity Tennis” for both JV and Varsity Players.  I hope to transition away from this email list  to that site and its automatic emails because I’ve had many, many girls and parents ask to be added to this email list and I am not confident that I have collected them all!
